Shield Space focuses on autonomous RPO – rendezvous and proximity operations – and space control. The company is based in the United Kingdom and is now expanding into Germany. Its founders come from UK Space Command, and McVeigh notes that an increasing number of people with that background are joining the organization.

The facility supports 248 test scenarios in total — 195 within the controlled multi-purpose area (143 core scenarios plus 52 additional enhancements) and the remainder on live public roads. Scenarios are designed to stress-test sensing accuracy, decision-making under traffic and weather variability, and overall readiness for unsupervised public operation.

Autonomous AgXeed AgBot sets world ploughing record
A new world ploughing record has been set by an autonomous vehicle covering just over 50 acres in 24 hours. 
Taking place in the UK at Birch Farm in North Yorkshire the new record was achieved by the AgXeed AgBot 5.115T2 driverless vehicle pulling a five-furrow Kverneland LO 300/85 plough.Officially, the 24-hour autonomous ploughing challenge knocked up 20.8ha (51.37 acres) of ploughing using the robotic tractor, which is powered by a Deutz diesel engine.
